Sheaumann Laser, Inc. is a privately-held corporation that was founded in 2005 by Jim Hsieh, a pioneer of the packaged semiconductor laser industry. Entirely management owned with no outside investors, the company is in full control of its operations and financial status, enabling it to carry out its objectives in an efficient and productive manner not possible with most other laser manufacturing companies still in business today.

Sheaumann Laser leases a 15,000 sq ft manufacturing facility located within an hour’s drive from Boston, where all products are designed, assembled, and tested. Jim Hsieh Chairman and CEO Over 45 years of experience in the semiconductor laser industry. Founder and President of Lasertron, Inc. from 1980 to 1995. Recipient of IEEE’s 1992 David Sarnoff Award for the invention and commercialization of the GaInAsP semiconductor laser for fiber-optic communications. Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of Southern California.

Gary Sousa Chief Operating Officer Over 25 years of technical development experience in the laser diode industry (Presstek, Lasertel). Author of over 50 patents laser diode chip design and optical packaging.

Tim Shea VP New Business Development Former president and COO of Neos Ocular. Former president and COO of SurgiLight. Held upper management positions at Laser Analytics and Schwartz Electro-Optics.

Frank Hsieh President MBA from Babson College, BSEE from Cornell University. Involved in the marketing and management of Lasertron’s original 980nm pump laser module (1993-1996).
